Round Top Antiques in Round Top

September 19 – October 3

Located almost exactly halfway between Austin and Houston, Round Top is the smallest incorporated town in the state (with a population of less than a hundred), but it has a monumental reputation in the world of antiques in America.

Twice a year Round Top is host to one of the nation’s largest antique events. The show started in 1967 with 22 dealers at the Round Top Rifle Hall. The Original Round Top Antiques Fair is still the first full weekend in April and October. Because of its success, many other shows open prior to it and now include the towns in a 10-mile radius of Round Top.

The locations for the shows are as various as the dealers exhibiting. Some are in dance halls, some under football field-size tents, and still others fill fields, but all have treasures. Most of the shows are north and south of Round Top along Highway 237. Some shows are more controlled than others with exact opening and closing times. Others open when the sun rises and close when the sun sets. For a list of venues and more information, go to www.roundtop.org.
