As new owners comfortably settle into the peaceful community of Gates Ranch, they are finding impressive ways to improve their new properties.  Several are beginning to build striking landscapes that genuinely capture what is so unique about owning a ranch in Washington County.

Dr. Amy Woodruff and her husband, Dr. Trent Baker – who selected Gates Ranch as the ideal country retreat for themselves and their three children – have begun building their very own three acre pond.  They are hoping to complete the project by this summer, so that their kids, ranging in ages from 2-10, can start catching some fish, and skipping rocks across the water.

The Woodruff-Baker children are eagerly looking forward to the completion of the new 3-acre fishing hole on their family farm.

Former Houston Mayor Bill White, his wife Andrea, and their three children, have wasted no time in also making improvements to their new farm at Gates Ranch.  They are currently building a new all-weather dirt road that is crowned with an impressive entrance made with native Texas Stone.  This stone is the same type that was used in the 1800s to build some of the area’s most historic structures.

The White family has a commanding view across the Brazos Valley from their farm’s private entry at Gates Ranch.

Meanwhile, the Stein family – who love their ranch for its long views, rolling hills, and proximity to Aggie land – are also building a new road for their property.  One of the unique things about the Stein’s property is its large spring fed pond that remains full all year long.  The road the Steins are building creatively shows the beauty of this pond by coming up and over the pond’s dam, while capturing views of the property.

The Stein’s drive across their dam provides a stunning entry to their new home site.

With all of these new changes occurring, Wolff Companies is proud of the great work that these families are doing to improve their own farms and the landscape of Gates Ranch as a whole.  It is truly an exciting time at the Ranch.
